Lets Go Local: Natadola The Beach, Cafe Planet The Coffee

Meet Erik and Kate Aelbers. They live in Suva with their kids Hugo (aged 6) and Lucy (aged 4).
Mr Aelbers, or Erik, works for the Asian Development Bank.
“We’ve called Suva home for a little over five years now and are particularly happy to do during these uncertain times,” Mr Aelbers said.
“We’ve visited quite a few places on Viti Levu for quick weekends away.
“Further afield we’ve visited some islands in the Mamanucas, as well as Savusavu and Taveuni.”
What’s One Place You’d Take Every Visitor To Fiji And Why?
We love visiting Natadola Beach, and usually stay at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.
The beach there is the most beautiful we’ve found on Viti Levu.
It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend away.
What’s Your Secret Backyard Favourite Spot?
Our children, Hugo and Lucy, enjoy a visit to the Colo-I-Suva Rainforest Eco Resort to feed their fish.
It’s a beautiful place to visit regardless of the weather.
What’s Uour Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
If we’re driving between Suva and the West, Cafe Planet in Korotogo is always a great place to stop.
In Suva, the pies at MadHatter and Weta Coffee are always good too.
What’s One Fiji Spot On The Top Of Your Bucket List?
Until recently, it would have been to venture deeper into the interior of Viti Levu. We were recently able to cross that off the list, with a great trip with Talanoa Treks.
Now, a visit to the Yasawas and diving off Kadavu are still on our list
