Fijian Man’s Body In France Found

Mr Karan confirmed that talks were underway between the two embassies on the possibility of flying Mr Tabutabu’s body over to Fiji for his funeral rites.

The body of Fijian-born Inia Tabutabu who has been missing in France since May 30, has been found.

This was confirmed by Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yogesh Karan yesterday.

Mr Karan said he received information from his ambassador in Brussels.

He said further details of the discovery of his body was yet to be determined.

Mr Karan confirmed that talks were underway between the two embassies on the possibility of flying Mr Tabutabu’s body over to Fiji for his funeral rites.

Mr Tabutabu is believed to have last spoken to his partner, Luiseini Nukuvuka, while he was at a campsite in Barousse Valley, a small region in Southwestern France.

Mr Tabutabu went to France in 2008 and joined as a soldier in the French Legion.

He worked at Airbus as a Quality Service Agent.

Mr Tabutabu’s distraught mother, Eka Tabutabu, 64, confirmed the news.
