Good Turnout At Fiji Open

Fiji Table Tennis Association (FTTA) was happy with a good turnout at the Fiji Open.
The four-day event which started on Thursday ends tomorrow at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
The event would have included Oceania and overseas players but this was not possible as the borders are still closed.
About 70 participants were registered for the competition.
FTTA operations manager Lupe Cakau was happy.
“We had our training camp last week and we are overwhelmed with the turnout,” she said
“With borders closed, we are only entertaining our local players.”
Olympic hopeful, Sally Yee pulled out of the comp due to personal reasons.
Sally’s mother and former table tennis rep, Harvi Yee, said Sally’s sister Grace is among the favourites.
“We have Grace and the Duncan sisters, Filo and Neli,” Harvi said.
“They started playing together with my daughters and took a break for a while before returning this year.
“Turnout was really good. We have a lot of new players as well.”
The championship ends tomorrow.
