Plan Daily Trips Wisely Because Of Roadworks Drive

The Land Transport Authority of Fiji (LTA) is urging Suva commuters to plan their departure times wisely, as the Fiji Road Authority (FRA) is currently conducting urgent roadworks.
Chief executive officer, Samuel Simpson, said traffic from Princes Road inbound have been using back roads to get to the Kings Highway, which has resulted in extended delays, both on the backroads and Kings Highway.
“Instead of getting caught up in a long traffic jam, a much better plan is to stagger your commute. We are asking drivers, if they are able, to please consider leaving later or even earlier for your daily commute into Suva to ease traffic delays, and so you don’t get caught up in ongoing works,” Mr Simpson said.
“FRA is currently working very hard to rehabilitate many roads in Suva, including Princes Road and Nokonoko Road, which are key arteries into the city. And heavy rains on Sunday night delayed this work.

“Every agency concerned – the Fiji Police Force, FRA and LTA – are doing their best to deliver the improvements to your commute and in the interim. We ask for patience and understanding from drivers and remind you to drive safely.”
