Naitasiri’s Jese ‘Hitman’ Ravudi takes on Ronald ‘The Terminator’ Naidu for the vacant IBO Oceania Oriental welterweight title on May 22.

This will be the main event in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions set for Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

The boxers have fought each other twice and won one each.

Two weeks ago Ravudi defeated veteran boxer Abhay Chand in a split points’ decision while Naidu won with a KO over Nathan Singh.

Ravudi said: “After the win over Abhay, I needed another title shot or boxer from overseas for my next fight. Thank God,  Naidu is willing. Like I say everything will be done in the ring. In the previous fights, I used to wait for my opponents but I’ve changed my game plan.”

“ I believe it will be a good fight especially against a good opponent like Naidu.

“ I will have to prepare well for this fight because it will be tough and i know that Naidu will also be training hard for this fight.

“ Come the day it will come down to who is much more hungrier for the win.”

Ravudi also holds the World Boxing Foundation Asia Pacific title which he won last year.

Naidu has two titles, the WBF Australasian Super welterweight  title and the Fijian Super Lightweight title.

“I am looking for a fight and the deal is good,”Naidu said.

“ I’m looking forward to the fight but first things first i will have to train and prepare well.

Promoter Freddy Chand confirmed there will be 10 fights in the programme.

“We have also secured the IBO Asia Pacific Orient welterweight division title for the first time and it is coming,” he said.

“It is good for Fiji as the title will stay in Fiji. We got our super welterweight champion and welterweight champion both will be fighting for the IBO Asia Pacific title.”
