Former Flying Fijians star winger Vilimoni Delasau had one wish after watching the All Blacks-Fiji test match at Dunedin, last Saturday.

“I only wished I could play on the back of the current forwards that we have,” Delasau told SUNsports yesterday.

He said this in response to how the Flying Fijian forwards, led by flanker John Dyer, dominated the breakdowns.

“It was very exciting to watch them and it certainly puts Fiji in good light around the rugby world,” he said.

“I can’t remember the last time any tier two nation really dominated All Blacks in the breakdown, and right in their backyard.”

Delasau, was one of the stars in the Flying Fijians 38-34 win over Wales in the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.

Delasau made a name for himself in the abbreviated format, but added that it was time that all Fijians rally behind the team and the coaching set-up.

“There are exciting times ahead and with the current coaching set-up, I feel every Fijian will be proud of the national team,” he said.

“But as of now, enjoy the second test because I know the All Blacks will be tougher, but our boys know that the Kiwis are beatable.”
