First in Lautoka, a state-of-art sports bar is set to open on October 15 at The Hub complex in Waiyavi.

The Stadium View would become the first sports bar in Lautoka which would not require membership and would be open to Lautoka residents.

General manager Stanley Chand said the sports bar was inspired by United Kingdom pubs with a total investment of $100,000.

“We have created an environment where working people, and Lautoka residents could come and relax with a couple of drinks, while enjoying their favourite sporting activities,” he said.

“We’ve got six widescreen televisions which are inside, and two wide projectors that are outside in the decking area.”

Mr Chand said the total bar area was 360 square meters which included both the inside and outside sitting area.

He highlighted the decentralisation of services through The Hub complex would give customers a quiet and spacious environment to reconnect with peers.

The Stadium View is owned by Alpha Investments Pte Limited, a company which focuses on wholesale trade and property development.

Range of beverages
Mr Chand said the bar was trying to accommodate all ranges of drinks.

“We are dealing with all wholesalers that are currently available in Fiji.

“We are working with Paradise Beverages (Fiji) Limited as they are our main supplier for Fiji Gold and Fiji Bitter beers.”

Along with beverages menu, the bar would also offer finger foods, Mr Chand said.

“We are also looking at importing the world renowned Guinness beer, Tiger Beer from Singapore in the following six months after the opening.”

In light of COVID
Mr Chand said although the total sitting capacity was 121 individuals, and standing was 20, the bar would strictly adhere to the COVID-19 regulations announced by the Government.

“We would operate at 70 per cent capacity only.

“Being fully vaccinated is also a requirement to enjoy the services the bar would provide.”

He said the sanitisation of the premises would occur weekly.

He said a total of 10 staff members were employees, all of whom were currently undergoing training.

Mr Chand added that all furniture used in the bar was sourced from local joinery companies.

Opening hours
Mr Chand said the bar would open seven days a week from 11am to 8pm.

“However, if curfew restrictions are lifted, the opening time would be from 11am to 11pm,” he said.
