Two men and a juvenile who are alleged to have robbed and assaulted a taxi driver leaving him to bleed on the roadside have been remanded by the Magistrates Court in Navua.

Simione Waqaicere, 30, Anare Molilevu, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Lepanoni Settlement in Navua appeared before Magistrate Thushara Thennankoon yesterday.

The alleged incident took place at Waikalou in Pacific Harbour last Friday.

The three were alleged to have taken more than $100 cash, a watch, and a mobile phone and drove off in the taxi from Waikalou to Mokosoi in Pacific Harbour.

They allegedly abandoned the cab after crashing into a roadside post at around 6.30pm damaging the front tyre.

The complainant in the matter is a 56-year-old taxi driver, Suraj Nath.

All three were charged with one count of aggravated robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

Waqaicere is also charged with one count of breach of a suspended sentence.

The bail hearing for the 17-year old juvenile will be called today while Waqaicere and Molilevu have been remanded in Police custody and will have their bail hearing called on October 22.
