Truck Driver Escapes Injuries

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the driver was heading towards Nausori when the alleged incident occurred however, he escaped injuries.

A truck driver who was involved in an accident in Makoi, Nasinu on Sunday night escaped injuries when his vehicle veered off-road and tumbled down a hill.

On October 31, 2021, at about 8.30 pm along Makoi in Nasinu, a 39-year-old market vendor was driving his vehicle on his way home when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and went off-road.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the driver was heading towards Nausori when the alleged incident occurred however, he escaped injuries.

Police are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the accident.

Witness Vikash Chand who has been residing in Makoi for a year was home when he suddenly heard the sound of the accident.

He said he came outside in his backyard to check when he saw the truck tumbled upside down in his backyard.

He added that the driver was not injured however, he was worried because most of his crops were damaged due to the impact of the accident.

Mr Chand said he was lucky to not have any damages to his house and was thankful that no one was injured in the accident.
