Locally-owned tour and transport operator, Pacific Destinations is now rebranding to TEWAKA.

The timely announcement comes as the Nadi International Airport prepares to receive international visitors arriving today.

Proud Fijian owners, Lala and James Sowane, in a joint response said being in partial hibernation since March 26, 2020, provided the opportunity to re-model and re-brand the business.

“This is to enhance our focus on being a quality tourism services and transport operator that is 100 per cent proudly Fijian owned,” the couple said.

The Name, Logo And Colours
TEWAKA is an uncommon Fijian word that means: To grow …

The Tewaka Logo

The Tewaka Logo

TEWAKA logo
–  Mangrove Plant -Mangrove represents strength, protecting our coastal environment and villages from sea surges.

–  Mangroves are the nursery of marine life plus they absorb and store carbon long term, making them a critical solution in the fight against climate change.

–  The exposed/aerial roots of the mangroves remind us of the firmly rooted nature in our Fijian heritage, our culture, and the diversity of our team of local talents who hail from all parts of Fiji to join us on our journey.

The Colours
–  The Blue represents our clean and pristine South Pacific Ocean that we depend heavily on for our sustenance and it reminds us of the voyages journeyed by our forefathers to finally settle in Fiji.

–  The Pink is our inspiration for Courage and Resilience and a personal homage to Breast Cancer survivors and those currently battling.

–  The mangrove leaves arrangement on the logo are deliberate in the formation of the Fijian tapa design that are common in our tapestry and fine arts.

– Three mangrove plants are the symbol of our Christian (Catholic) Faith in the Holy Trinity.

Mr and Mrs Sowane thanked their designers for fitting artwork that inculcates their inspiration for the TEWAKA logo.
