Promising is how the Inter-Continental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa area general manager Lachlan Walker has described the remainder of 2021 and 2022.

He said the resort team was pumped up and excited to be back in business’ as Fiji welcomed its first international guests into the country.

He made the comment during a thanksgiving and dedication ceremony to the landowners of Natadola (Sanasana Village Taukei Nahoqo) yesterday.

The celebration coincided with the resort’s the welcome its first international holidaymakers, since the COVID-19 pandemic hit last year.

“Today is a celebration as we receive our first international guests in 20 months,” he said.

“We can expect a steady increase of tourist over the next two weeks.”

Mr Lachlan said 50 guests from the flight out of Australia on December 1 were staying at the resort.

Commitment
“We will not waiver on our commitment to our guests, our partners, our community, our owners and colleagues to be the best that we can be and a proud member of the community,” he said.

“The team and myself thank the vanua of Nahoga for their continuing opportunity to work in such a strong partnership and we continue to look at ways at how we can grow this relationship and support the community.

He also reflected on members of their team who had lost their lives or loved ones.

“What we’ve seen over the last years is strength and resilience ofour colleagues who’ve supported each other through this period and for this we are very grateful.

“The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa through the valued support of our owners, FNPF, have continued to operate the resort both as a much-needed quarantine facility in the Club area to keep returning residents, citizens and some permit holders safe, such an important thing for our community.”
