Domestic Use Of Rental Cars Increase
Asco Motors Fiji Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Kumar, says it has been encouraging to see that more people hiring motor vehicles after the re-opening of Fiji’s international borders.
When the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak, Avis Car Rental relied heavily on the domestic market.
Avis is a subsidiary of Asco Motors.
Mr Kumar said the increase in motor vehicle hirers had a ripple effect on the tourism industry.
“As our hirers increased in numbers, we are able to get into more business opportunities, and retain our employees,” said Mr Kumar.
“We are trying to increase our fleet for both Avis and Payless.”
“That is a testament to our confidence that this industry is showing us.”
He said the experiences learnt on the back of the COVID- 19 pandemic set a culture in the domestic market.
