The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing between Fiji Airways and the Fiji National University will ensure job opportunities for all students.

The signing of the MOU was between Fiji Airways chief executive officer, Andre Viljoen, FNU Dean for the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Professor Arun Elias and FNU’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr William May at the Namaka Campus in Nadi yesterday.

FNU Associate Dean Research College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Dr Avanish Shukla said the partnership would be noted down in the history books for Fiji Airways and FNU as both organizations work in collaboration for the betterment of all Fijians.

“This partnership will see students from the Fiji National University find work attachments and hopefully go on to secure permanent placement thanks to the excellent on-the-job training provided by Fiji Airways,” said Dr Shukla.

“The discussions surrounding this agreement have been going on for some time.

“I am pleased to state that our students who are enrolled in more than 15 study programmes would be able to be part of the FNU Work Experience Programme with Fiji Airways.”

He said not only would the signing of the MOU bring mutual benefits for both organisations but it would further strengthen the relationship to serve all Fijians.

“We uphold our commitment to Fiji Airways to provide qualified and suitable students to Fiji Airways in the Work Experience Programmes as interns,” he said.

“FNU and Fiji Airways are committed to providing the best opportunities for our students to take and get the full training experience.”
