The Uprising Beach Resort offers an uninterrupted ocean view and balmy sea breezes flow through spacious authentic, Fijian-themed accommodation, thatched beachfront Villas and bures for a desirable true Fijian style holiday.

To make your holiday at the beach resort more relaxed, meet Rusiate Naulivou, the resort manager at Uprising Beach Resort.

Mr Naulivou has been managing this resort since he joined in August of 2018.

He said that it is one of the most challenging jobs which requires a lot of sacrifice and determination.

I thank the continuous support of the Directors/Owner of the resort Mr Rene Munch in this role and most importantly to the Almighty God for the breath of life and wisdom which enabled me to lead one of the best teams in my entire career.

Based on his performance, the native of Namara, Vuda, Ba is hopeful to manage the resort for another year.

“I do know that I have done my very best during my tenure as Resort Manager,” Mr Naulivou said.

“Now with the borders finally opened, I have seen an increase in our visitor’s arrivals.

“We had to turn away a few reservations or bookings due to the limited number of rooms that we’ve got.

“There had also been additional product lines created such as our new 120 seater Conference Facility to cater for our MICE market.

“This will be a game changer for us since we had been vying to have one conference facility to cater for this growing market,” he said.

The new conference facility will have its soft reopening in the coming weeks.

How many places have you visited around Fiji?

I have visited most places around Viti Levu, the Mamanucas and the Yasawa Island Group. In regards to resorts and hotels, I have stayed a lot with Accor Group of Hotels locally, IHG Group mainly Holiday Inn in Suva and the Tanoa Group such as the Tanoa International Hotel as well as its apartment hotel located in Nadi.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take visitors to?

Pacific Harbour, “the Adventure Capital of Fiji” where majority of our visitors both domestic and international are not aware of.

There are a range of island and inland activities which no one should miss, from kayaking, Shark Dive, River Tubing, River Rafting.

What is your favourite place for coffee/pie?

Skinny Bean Café located at Arts Village, Pacific Harbour.

What is your favourite backyard spot?

Behind our place at Makosoi Housing in Pacific Harbour.

I had harvested around 100 dalo and 16 yams which I had planted last year after being laid off from work for eight months because of COVID 19.

It was a learning curve for us especially hospitality & tourism workers.to always have a PLAN B in place all the time.

What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list?

The garden island of Taveuni, one of the famous islands in Fiji.
