When it comes to graphic designing, Manaini Marama Rokotuivuna brings to life a story that leaves you with an experience to remember.
This 28-year-old graphic artist is a Cakaudrove native, who shares maternal link to Rukuruku in Levuka, Ovalau, and was born at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
She is more attached to her maternal side of the family. She said her parents would always give their best for her and her younger siblings.
“My parents always had my best interest in mind and at heart, they supported me all throughout and I am forever in debt to them,” he said.
“Their humble upbringing has motivated me to become the best version of myself.”
She attended Adi Cakobau School, graduated into the Fiji National University and then furthered her studies in Dublin, Ireland with a Diploma in Graphics Design. And in Raffle Design Institute, Singapore she ended up with a Bachelors in Graphic Design & Masters in Visual Communication.
“I thought it would be just like every other ordinary kid where I would get through high school and university and get a job; never did I think that I would do my masters or even get three medals and be an honour student,” she said
Manaini is the first Fijian Native to graduate with a masters from Raffle Design Institute in Singapore.
“I still have so much to discover in this field of graphics designer; there is always something new every day to discover innovative ideas,” she said.
“Graphic designing taught me to take responsibility for the tasks given and to take ownership of the work I produce.”
Her advice to Fijian, aspiring to be graphic designers is to never look down on themselves, but focus on the author and finisher of faith.
“Continue to rise above all circumstances in life and always respect your fellow designers and engage with one another to widen your knowledge and network,” she said
