Mum Determined To Graduate

Being pregnant did not stop 27-year-old Merani Vorua from completing her final exams at the Fiji National University last year.
Ms Vorua said she was determined to graduate this year. Her sacrifice and hard work paved her way to graduation yesterday as her one-month-old son witnessed what she called a ‘proud moment’.
This was also witnessed by her husband and eldest son.
The Cakaudrove native graduated with a Trade Diploma in Office Administration.
“I was a student that had to juggle the role of being a mother and a wife. It was not easy,” said the 27-year-old.
“It is a relief knowing that those sacrifices have finally been paid off. I want to thank my husband for his support.”
She said pursuing further education was not for the faint hearted as it would require a lot of sacrifices and unforeseen circumstances too.
She said it was important for people to have a good circle of friends that could motivate one another to push beyond their limits.
“Give it all to God. Commit your work onto God and he will help you get to the finishing line,” she added.
