Inflation Mitigation Help Closes At 5pm Today

The Permanent Secretary for Economy, Shiri Gounder said applications for the $180 inflation mitigation assistance would close today at 5pm.

He added that all pending $180 Government assistance would be paid on October 19.

“So far, the Ministry of Economy has paid a total of $62.2 million to 345,307 Fijians as part of the Government’s $180 inflation mitigation assistance.”

“This includes parents of 233,438 students below Year 13, around 18,483 tertiary students, 86,198 social welfare recipients, 5,737 Aftercare beneficiaries and 1,451 pensioners.”

“Parents of 233,438 children have received a total of $42.0 million in $180 payout. Of this, 189,496 children are in school, with a total payout of $34.1m and 43,942 children are not in school (infant to ages 5/6) with a total payout of $7.9m.”
