Rewa Seals Deal With Sharam Hangers

The Rewa football team’s campaign for the Courts Interdistrict Championship (IDC) received a major boost when they struck a deal with Sharam Hangers.
The company owns clothing shops in Nausori and Suva with the owner Mohammed Sharif Khan residing in Australia.
Rewa football team manager Lawrence Nath said yesterday that Khan was a loyal supporter of the team.
“Getting sponsors is not easy and we thank Sharam Hangers for coming onboard,” he said.
The Rewa football side recently won the Digicel Premier League title for the first time and made the final of the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Labasa.
Also, Rewa also participated at this year’s OFC Champions League in Auckland, New Zealand.
Nath said the challenge for the team is to win the me and end its 12-year drought.
“Coach Marika Rody is giving his all in preparing the players for the me.
“Our five players in the national team will be back today (yesterday) and this will strengthen the squad,” he added.
Rewa is in Pool B, which is dubbed the ‘pool of death’, they take on Labasa along with Western giants Lautoka and Ba.
Rewa faces Labasa in its opening match tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva. The match kicks off at 7.30pm.
