Sixty-two new recruits for the Fiji Corrections Service were accorded with a ceremonial parade at the Naboro training academy on Friday.

Minister for Defence, National Se­curity and Policing, Inia Seruiratu commended the Fiji Corrections Service for their continued contri­bution in the matter of security for Fiji, particularly in nurturing the 62 new recruits and their rehabili­tation of inmates effort.

“I congratulate the contribution made by the Fiji Corrections Ser­vices for the tireless effort in the rehabilitation of inmates,” he said.

“Since the inception of the Yel­low Ribbon Project in 2008, our na­tion’s current rate has dropped to one per cent, the lowest on record.

“The Yellow Ribbon programme expo and the support of business­es, we have seen the employment of 53 inmates since its inaugura­tion.”
