High Seas Murder Accused’s Lawyer To File Admissibility Challenge

Defence lawyer in the high seas murder case has been given time to file voir dire grounds, challenging the alleged confessions and admissibility of the accused’s caution interview and audio recording to a journalist.

This is in the case of Tevita Kapawale who faces five counts of murder.

Kapawale appeared before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva yesterday.

Kapawale allegedly murdered Qiritivabea Cagilabakomeli aged 28, Benjamin Semuel Sukera aged 44, Alfat Kodri aged 37, Eme Warma aged 47, and Samuela Sukera aged 28.
