The Labasa Divisional Hospital celebrated the handover of a brand-new walk-in cooler and a -80°C freezer from the Ty-FIVE Consortium last Friday.

This was possible through a partnership led by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) to reduce typhoid burden in Vanua Levu.

The first-ever walk-in cooler and the -80°C freezer at the hospital were welcomed with a small ceremony attended by the Steering Committee of the Ty-FIVE Consortium, the Medical Superintendent Labasa Hospital Dr Jaoji Vulibeci, Labasa Hospital’s Laboratory Superintendent Makarita Baleinadogo and personnel from Labasa Hospital’s Microbiology Department.
