Financial literacy is an area the accounting profession will take a keen interest in this year.

Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants met at the weekend at Warwick Fiji, Coral Coast in an annual technical workshop.

Institute president Tarlochan Singh said the accounting profession and institutes play a pivotal role in raising awareness on the importance of financial literacy amongst grassroots communities.

“It is incumbent upon the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants to remain relevant for the accounting profession to develop and operate in a real-time environment,” Mr Singh said.
