Fluctuation In Container Volume Recorded, 527 Vehicles Offloaded In March

Fiji Ports Terminal Limited has recorded a fluctuation in cargo/container volume so far this year.
However, Head of Corporate Services Salesh Kumar remains optimistic that cargo/container volume would pick up latter in the year.
“So far the vessel calls have been consistent as we mostly have return callers,” said Mr Kumar.

He added that this month, a total of 28 container ships were scheduled to arrive and 19 have arrived at Suva Port so far.
“We are continuously improving our operational efficiency through investing in technology, human capital, modern port handling equipment, etc.”
Vehicle Carriers
Mr Kumar said five vehicle carriers are schedule to arrive this month and four have arrived so far.
He said a total of 527 vehicles have been offload so far this month from the four vehicle carriers that had already arrived this month.
