NGO Takes Literacy Initiative Into High Schools

Students of three high schools in the Western Division were given reading materials as part of a women empowerment awareness.

The initiative was made possible by the Lautoka branch members of Soroptimist International.

Publicity officer Zareena Bi said the most recent initiative was at the Lautoka Andhra Sangam College.

“We’ve got all the project highlights in those flyers, and we’ve got the magazines.The students can have a look at whatever information is available here, they will look at it and then they can use it for their projects and it’s mostly their English projects on women empowerment,” she said.
