Sainiana Rokovucago Is New CEO For FRIEND Fiji

Lautoka, 23 March 2023 – The Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises & Development has appointed Ms. Sainiana Rokovucago as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Sainiana comes with broad experience in program management having worked in the Humanitarian Sector, with local and regional NGOs, development work in Kiribati and in the early days of Ministry of Women. She was appointed through a comprehensive recruitment process led by consultancy firm, KPMG.
The FRIEND Fiji Board is confident that Sainiana’s expertise and experience will allow her to extend the vision of the organization to greater heights and develop its poverty alleviation
programs to serve communities better.
The Board acknowledges the contribution of the founder or the organization, Ms. Sashi Kiran, now the Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation. Sashi’s vision
and her efforts of building FRIEND from nothing 21 years ago will always be remembered.
She has left FRIEND a strong, highly regarded and financially viable organization with an exciting future.
FRIEND is expanding its reach. As well as its long-established presence in the West, FRIEND is rolling out a four-year program of rural development in the Northern Division and
Food Security programs in the Central Division.
The Board has faith that Sainiana will sustain and grow the Organization to greater heights with her leadership and guidance from the Board.
