Businesses will barely cope with clauses proposed in a draft employment relations Bill, after a very recent 48 per cent National Minimum Wage increase.
The proposed new increases in the Bill will make future economic growth nearly impossible, the Textile Clothing and Footwear Council said.
All leave reinstated
The comment followed a meeting at Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) yesterday, where members concerns over possible changes to five areas:
- repealing all Employment Relations Act (ERA) amendments made outside of the tripartite process, meaning that the Part 19 will revert to 2007 status quo meaning that all CA prior to the ENI Decree shall be restored.
- all existing cases at the Arbitration Court are to be reverted to the Tribunal.
