University Dean: Minimum Wage Must Be Reviewed

The Government must consider reviewing the minimum wage to avoid brain drain of new graduates.
This was a suggestion made by Eric Jioje: The associate dean Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the college of business, hospitality and tourism at the Fiji National University (FNU).
“The Government must really look at the minimum wage, right now our minimum wage is less than $5 an hour,” Mr Jioje said.
“I think the minimum wage in Australia is almost $25 an hour, even with our graduates getting that qualification, they will rather get a minimum wage at $20.”
