Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua rugby fullback Lavenia Tinai scored a try on her debut match against the Brumbies.

This saw the Drua escape with a 12-7 win in the opening round of the Super W Championship at Prince Charles Park in Nadi today.

Tinai managed to score a try from a backline move and she also landed the conversion for a 7-0 lead at halftime.

In the second spell, the Fijiana side continued their unbroken play to score another try to winger Laisani Moceisawana to extend their lead to 12-0.

The visitors from their forward play allowed Grace Kemp to score near the post and first-five-eight Faitala Moleka kicked over the conversion to close the gap 12-7.

Drua had a setback when Vani Arei was sent to the sin bin for unprofessional play.

Both teams tried their best but failed to connect passes as dropped ball became the order of the day.

The host had 14 debutants in the match while the visitors had 10.
