With the green light given for next year’s Savusavu Art and Fashion Week, there is an air of optimism to capi­talise on touristic niche.

Attending the inaugural edition of the event were Savusavu Cham­ber of Commerce and Industries president, Ravi Chhaganlal, hoped for more collaborative spirit to con­tinue between Daku Resort manage­ment and the Fiji Arts Council.

Mr Chhaganlal said benefits to the local economy would be impressive if the event continued for many more years.

Confirmation was made by the Fiji Arts Council director, Maciusela Raitaukala, that the event would be at Daku Resort in March next year.

He said the commercial and retail aspects of the event was dependent on its sustainability.
