Fiji Men’s 7s Qualify For Olympics

The Fiji Airways Fijian men’s rugby sevens team has qualified to next year’s Paris Olympic Games in France.
The two-time Olympic Games gold medallists finished third at the HSBC World Sevens Series standings.
The Joseva Talacolo-captained side failed to make the Cup quarterfinal in Toulouse.
In the ninth place quarterfinal the Fijians beat Germany 28-5 before proving too strong for Uruguay 31-15. In the 9th place final they beat Spain 26-15.
Meanwhile, the Fijian women’s side missed out on a top four finish in the series. They lost 10-5 to Ireland, who has qualified.
The Saiasi Fuli-coached side now must win the Oceania Sevens Championship, to qualify for the Paris Olympics,
On the brighter side, Fijian halfback Reapi Ulunisau received the DHL Impact Player Award for the 2022/23 series.
