Gallant Suva Takes City To The Wire

The Suva football side fought gallantly as they went down 4-2 (in extra time) to Auckland City in the OFC Champions League final in Port Vila, Vanuatu, this afternoon. City led 2-0 at halftime and Suva pulled a goal back at the start of the second half.
In the 84th minute Suva midfielder Marlon Tahioa floated a well-place kick to the back of the net to tie the scores 2-2 at full-time.
In the two extra spell, Suva lost striker Azariah Soromon after he was red carded and City scored two late goals win.
A release from Suva Football stated: “Congratulations to City and we enjoyed that game.
We gave it our best but fell short and no excuses and to all our fans and people of Fiji and abroad who got behind the team, we thank you all.
“This has been a tournament of learning and for any Fijian team to play at this level requires a lot but also teaches us a lot. We will try again and should we or any other Fijian team make it, let us all get behind our Fijian teams all the time.”+
