Suva thumped neighbours Nasinu 95-43 in the Netball Fiji Finance Hub Super League at the FMF Gymnasium today.

Nasinu was playing catch-up right from the whistle 10-22 managed only seven goals in the second half with Suva soaring ahead 17-51 at half time.

With both sides decked with Fiji Pearls players Nasinu could not get its act together sliding down to 31-75 in the third quarter; allowing Suva to wallop them 43-95.

In the second game, Lautoka Stars ran over newcomers Naitasiri Highlanders 78-29.

The netters from the hills need to adjust to the all-weather turf apart from getting the right combination.

Naitasiri Highlanders tailed Lautoka 8-17 at the end of the first quarter, 14-37 at half time, 21-52 at the end of the third quarter and 29-78 at full time.

Ra Roosters caused the upset of the inaugural tournament after shaking off a disorganised Nadroga Stallions side 27-55.
Despite the thumping Nadroga president and coach Julie Kumar said they would give the league six weeks to gauge their capabilities.

“We have just had out knockout last week and these players just got together on Monday, Wednesday and yesterday to prepare for this match,” Kumar said.

“The average age of this side is 17 years and all attending school at Sigatoka Mission, Cuvu College to mention two.

“We are having our first round of competition next Friday, Saturday we will be in Lautoka for the second round.

“Give us five weeks and we will be in a better position to vouch our performance.”

The second and third rounds of the NF Hub Super League will be held at the Lautoka multi-purpose courts on June 3 and 10 respectively.
Then the rest of the rounds, fourth and fifth will be held in Suva; the sixth round is the finals.
