President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere reminded the students and teachers of the importance of having knowledge of Ratu Sukuna’s contribution and what he has done for the country, for being a statesman and being a true and courageous Fijian.

He spoke to students on the importance of discipline and adhering to instructions whether at home or school as be­ing key to success.

He also highlighted to the students and the staff mem­bers that one of the issues discussed at the Great Coun­cil of Chiefs (GCC) was to upgrade the school and ensure that they provide better educational opportunities for all Fijians.

As part of the week-long celebrations, students were able to learn more about Fiji’s statesman and the importance of the event.

Students from across the central division visited the educational booths that displayed information on the late Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna’s life, achievements, and sacrifices that he made for Fiji.
