Government Works On Strengthening Economic Ties

Fiji has pleaded for an increased investment from the United States government to fuel sustainable growth.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, met with the U.S commerce secretary, ambassador Sarah Bianchi, to strengthen economic ties in the U.S, last week.
They met on the margins of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Ministerial Meeting in Detroit, United States.
The high-level meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties and expanding economic cooperation between Fiji and the United States, said a Fiji Government Facebook post.
Mr Kamikamica highlighted Fiji’s commitment to deepen trade and investment relations with the U.S.
The discussions revolved around the importance of the Indo-Pacific region as an engine for global economic growth.
The meeting included the removal of certain barriers to ensure a conducive environment for businesses and investors from both nations.
