Pleass Global Limited, a locally-owned water bottler, is optimistic that Fiji’s tax regime will fall in the next financial year.

The company’s concern comes as shareholders are worried about the stability of the water bottling industry, which was the highlight of its annual general meeting held recently.

The Water Resource Act cuts a large portion of its revenue, living shareholders with lesser dividends, said Mr Pleass.

Payment of five cents per share dividend across 2022 and six cents across the December 2022 and May 2023 payments which relate to the 2022 financial year.

“They are very upset,” said Mr Pleass.

Pleass Global announced a net profit after tax of $1.22 million from its $17.3 million revenue in 2022.
