Iliave, 19, Graduates Alongside Dad
Iliave was excited to graduate with a Certificate in Deckhand Fishing from the Fiji National University’s (FNU) Fiji Maritime Academy on Friday.
It was even more special given that he graduated alongside his father, 50-year-old Metuisela Koroi from Lami Village, Lami.
“I am excited to be with my father,” the 19-year-old said about how it felt completing the same course as his father, who is a Crew Relations Officer.
“I’m the only boy in my family. I have four sisters. I just followed my father’s footsteps.”
Mr Rokodrawe intends to continue his schooling post-graduation so he can become the captain of a boat someday.
