The new system of lease money policy is acceptable to some land owning units in the Western Division, yet many prefer more funds to be invested for development projects.
The Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu said the GCC had discussed reinstating the old lease distribution policy at a reduced percentage for the traditional heads, Liuliu ni Yavusa and the Liuliu ni Mataqali.
Nawaka Village headman Mosese Ronakuru of mataqali o Batinareba, said the new policy sounded good, but he recommended that more lease money must be invested in the vanua development projects.
