last week, the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) officially announced the new FIJI Water Flying Fijians’ red jersey for the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

The jersey’s unveiling took place at Lautoka TappooCity, but it was not without controversy.

Yesterday, the Fiji Rugby Union Trustees distances themselves from the jersey design and production, indicating that it was the decision of the past boards.

Current sponsor, FIJI Water, was not consulted about it.

“The colour for our jersey was chosen some time ago and was already produced before any of the Trustees came on board,” Trustees chairman Peter Mazey told Sunsports yesterday.
