Ba Farmers Carnival Queen dedicates crown to parents

Miss FMF Ba Farmers Carnival 2023 Catriona Maryjane Navuru dedicated her crown to her parents for their mentorship and upbringing.
The Miss Varoko Sector contestant, from Nailaga Village who shares maternal links to Korolevu, Serua, said she was confident of winning the crown.
“I am a queen. This crown is dedicated to my role models; my mother, Elenoa Navuru and my father Eparama Tora who has been suffering from severe arthritis for so many years,” she said.
Ms Navuru attended Ratu Rusiate Nabuta Memorial School from 2009 – 2016 and Ba Methodist High School from 2017 – 2021.
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo officiated at the event, where he stressed that climate change is of grave concern for him and the ministry.
“In recent years, Ba has witnessed some of its worst floods and the damages caused on crops, livestock, and property is alarming Ba isn’t alone as these incidents of flooding and extreme weather conditions are being experienced all over Fiji,” said Mr Vosarogo.
“As a region, climate change has been identified as a threat to peace, security, and the Pacific region’s very existence, he added.
