The Auckland City midfielder will give Navua an edge in the midfield as they chase a win in their first outing to set alight their chances of qualifying to the semi finals from Pool B.
Navua soccer boss Anil Kumar will give Kumar a run in the starting lineup.
“We want a win against Nasinu and Kumar who has joined the side will be on the run-on side,” Kumar said.
Navua wants to make a winning start to the tournament with Labasa and Nadi also vying for a spot in the finals from their group.
Sharma said they will give their all in the first match and has promised that Navua will be a team to watch at the tournament.
He said they can’t afford to underestimate their fellow Southern district Nasinu despite their 2-0 loss to Tavua last night.
“We are not here to win the tournament but definitely we will be out for the best,” Sharma said.
Navua will play their first match against Nasinu and they know what to expect from their neighbors.
“I know Nasinu will be a very good team and will be tough to beat them but we will give our best shot,” Sharma said.
“The boys know the importance of this match since it will be our first match of the tournament and the boys are eager to play.
“Nasinu will be also out for a win and we will give them a good go. We will watch the Nasinu against Tavua today (yesterday) and from there we can see how to counter them.”
Navua faces an uphill battle in their pool matches as they will be out to dethrone the host team Nadi, the Vodafone Labasa in order to qualify for the semifinal.
“We are pooled with two of the giants but as I said we are not to win the tournament but to give our best shot.”
The Navua- Nasinu match kicks off at 10.15am today. The side failed to qualify for the Super Six this year but they will be out to give other big teams a good run for their money this weekend.
