“It was a difficult task for our players as we played Rewa at 9am and then faced a tough game against Lautoka at 2pm.
On the other hand after claiming one win and a draw at the Fiji Bitter FACT yesterday Watkins believes that they have a chance to make the semifinals on Sunday. Nadroga lost to Rewa 3-1 and later drew 1-1 against Lautoka.
“We still have a slight chance to make the top four if Suva beats Ba and Ba beat Lautoka. Nadroga on the other hand we have to win our reaming matches.” Watkins said.
He said that the draw against Lautoka has shown what the Stallions are capable off.
“When we lost in the morning against Rewa I had a good team talk and I told the boys we had to beat Lautoka to survive n this tournament.
Few mistakes cost the win against Lautoka but I’m very pleased with he boys,” Watkins said.
Nadroga came into the tournament without deadly striker Epeli Saukuru but Watkins said that this does not affect the team.
“Saukuru has opted to play for Navua and I emphasized to the boys that when one Saukuru goes another one will come. Our aim now is to beat Suva in our next game,” Watkins said.
Nadroga faces Suva in their next game at 10.15am this morning. Later in the day they face the Vodafone Ba side at 2.30pm.
