Bad road
Written By : R Keni Lami. The Lami town road in front of the shops is in such a pathetic state. I have never seen it in this state before.
The “lovo pits” as they are commonly known nowadays are all over the place and one can’t avoid them while driving through the town. The poor vehicle owners have to put up with it after paying wheel tax, road fitness, town rates etc.
The town council is just across the road and should have pride in the town and the upkeep of this road. This road is part of the town and used by all – locals and visitors – who come into Lami. Can you imagine the impression they get?
Can the authorities do something about it? It’ll never get fixed on its own.
I know the weather hasn’t been too kind recently but it was fine a few days last week and something should have been done then.
If the council is not responsible then they need to push the “buttons” of those who are. Otherwise, they need to be pro-active and get some kind of a town project going in order to raise funds to get the road repaired if lack of funds is the problem. But they should not sit back and expect some miracle to happen.
