Written By : Utiko Nabunobuno Lautoka. Vijay Madhavan (FS 3/6) is right in that indigenous citizens be called Fijians.
Those of Indian origin could be called Fiji Indians, those of European origins be known as Fiji Europeans and not part-Europeans, Fiji Chinese and likewise.
However, I have my reservations about everyone being called Fijians when they believe in different gods, have a different taste and are just different.
We are always equal but we are different. That’s the way we were made to be.
Nothing will ever change that.
