Sukhu upbeat on Futsal chance
Written By : Sun Fiji Sportsdesk. The national Futsal team is confident of a win in their opening game against New Caledonia in the Vodafone Oceania Futsal Championship at the Vodafone Arena on Sunday at 6pm.
That’s the comment made by team manager Jainendra Sukhu yesterday.
“We have a good chance of qualifying for the Futsal World Cup which will be held in Brazil in October.
“Players are training well under the guidance of coach Intiaz Khan.
“We have experienced players like Kamal Hassan, Dinesh Mudaliar, Imtiaz Begg, Wasim Ali and Alvin Avinesh.
“They have played for their clubs in the National championship which was held in Ba in April.
“The captain of the team will be named tomorrow (today) after the final training run,” added Sukhu.
The Fiji side plays their second game with Solomon Islands on Tuesday at 8pm, Vanuatu on Wednesday at 6.30pm.
