Written By : Osea Sivo Naisau. Nailaga, Ba. Recently Rajendra Chaudhry threatened to sue FICAC for “malicious prosecution” after he was acquitted of corrupt practice (FS 24/5).
The guy knows that he is innocent resulting in his retaliatory move.
On the other hand, regular columnist Victor Lal has been asking numerous questions on the dealings of interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry concerning monies collected and intended for the poor.
There seems to be no retaliatory measures taken by the said minister which raises questions on his integrity as a leader and champion of the poor.
Maybe he has suffered a lot during his political career and has decided to handle the barrage of punches on the “silence is golden” mode.
As public figures, ordinary citizens expect transparency and accountability from their leaders especially in circumstances which deal with their daily lives.
If they don’t get a positive feedback from their movers and shakers concerning their well-being, then mistrust settles in.
