Written By : FijiSun Sports Desk. Former Fiji FA president Abdul Lateef has passed away at the age of 87. Fiji FA president Dr Moh’d Shamsudean Sahu Khan also said that Losalini Tautau, the current Rewa women’s soccer president, had also passed away. He says that this is a big loss for the Fiji football family and added that they will be missed. “Abdul Lateef was president for Fiji FA from 1960-1962 and then again 1966,” Khan said. “He was the president for Rewa soccer in the 1950s.He was trustee for Fiji FA until 2006 when FIFA brought this amendment that one cannot be a trustee after 75 years. He was a primary figure behind the move to change the name Fiji Indian Football Association to Fiji Football. Only after that we could get admission to FIFA,” he said. The Fiji FA president also acknowledged Tautau who is the mother of former national and current Rewa rep Marika Rodu.
“Also another loss in the family is Losalini Tautau. She died at the age of 44. She was the current president of the Rewa women’s FA and a former national player. She is also the mother of Marika Rodu,” Khan said
