Written By : Apenisa Naigulevu Suva. Lawrence Narayan (FS 04/06/08) is asserting that Yahshua was resurrected on the 1st Day (Sunday) and yet how many times does one read in the Bible, where Yahshua himself is saying that he would be resurrected on the Third day. (See I Corinthians 15:1-4, Matthew 15:21, 17:22-23, 20:18-19 etc).
Doesn’t Narayan believe in the Bible?
I suggest people read the Bible and don’t be swayed by preconceived idea about what it says.
Except for the Sabbath, all days have always been numbered for time immemorial, right from creation and the third day (Yom Sh’lishi or Tuesday ) is always a set day, just like the first day, which is today referred to as (Yom Rishon or Sunday).
An influential factor for this mistake is the misreading of Matthew 28:1.
It is promoted that Mary Magdalene went to the tomb on the first day of the week.
However, most Bibles will show the word “day” in italics, because it was never in the original Aramaic or Greek text. People who feel that removing the word “day” from that verse will render it meaningless, just lack Biblical knowledge.
To decipher that truth, one must understand the wave sheaf and the counting of the omer (49 days or 7 weeks) towards Pentecost which is also called the Feast of Weeks.
Yahshua had already settled the issue that he would rise again on the third day, and this verse is telling us that it is the third day early in the first of the seven weeks towards Pentecost.
That is simple to understand. If Yahshua died on Friday – sixth day – and you count in the three full days and three full nights (the sign of Jonah), he would have been resurrected on the Third exactly according to Scriptures.
Christians should wake up and study their Bibles thoroughly and believe what it says.
Salvation is an individual responsibility and deceit is the problem of our day according to none other than Yahshua himself (Read it in Matthew 24:4-5). Don’t confuse scriptural truth and Christian practices.
