With a roll of 960 students, the school empathized and actively takes part in curricular and non curricular activities. The academic results of the school have been all high and they have produced among the best in the district. The school has excellent student council who over the years had under took responsibilities like upgrading student toilet facilities including new floor tiles. Citizenship development is what they believe to be an aspect that needed attention because student’s dynamics is changing every year at an increasing pace.
Erosion of cultural values and morality would be one a lost brought about by these changes.
The school is involving students in developing activities to achieve the objective of the study.
Founder of the school “Sevak Ratnam Sadhu Kuppuswamy” was a noble soul who inspired the South Indians in Fiji to have pride in their language and culture.
He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Sangam organisation the TISI Sangam.
Sadhu was the first president of TISI until his demise on 28th August, 1956.
He worked with total devotion and selflessness for the benefit of others, for which the honorary title of “Sevak Ratnam” the jewel of Sangam was conferred upon him by Sangam in 1941.
His vision was to provide for the enrichment of the cultural, spiritual and intellectual needs of the various Indian communities.
This was achieved through various Sangam schools around Fiji.
His dedication, genuine love and words of wisdom is still cherished by the Sangam family
Spiritual growth
An important part of the school activities is the celebration of all important religious days.
Teachers, guest speakers and student planned activities have made these celebrations more meaningful.
The emphasis on religious celebrations is aimed at nurture spiritual growth of their students.
Thorough these knowledge and experience the school hopes that their students will become balance individuals capable of making matured decision in their life and further more they will be able to interact with dignity and respect.
They will be able to give their parents the love they desire and be respected individuals in the community they live in.
