Written By : Lalesh Kundan Ba.. Sky Fiji has been advertising a deal by which current subscribers switch to Sky Pacific on a rental plan for $149.
I called the Sky Fiji office to enquire further.
To enable the switch, one has to sign a contract for two years with Sky Pacific; with monthly subs of $65. First months’ subscription is free but you forfeit deposit paid upon sign-up to Sky Fiji. So for a two-year period, one would end up paying $1644.
For non-Sky Fiji subscribers to sign up to Sky Pacific, you pay $399 with monthly subs of $55. First two months subscription is free. This works out to $1609 – still cheaper than the deal for Sky Fiji subscribers.
I’m not sure what the message is here. Why the $10 per month extra charge? Again, Sky Fiji customers are scapegoats.
By the way, I was told two years ago that the switch to Sky Pacific would have to happen as the Sky Fiji system would go obsolete. When exactly is this going to happen? And why are the customers being billed for this?
We were not told upon signing-up to Sky Fiji that the system would go obsolete in a few years and we’d end up paying $400 to switch to another system.Pretty lame, wouldn’t you say?
