Written By : Rajen Naidu Sydney. Rajendra Chaudhry’s protestations (FS 17/6) regarding the leaking of his confidential letter to the interim PM to the media reminds me of what an expatriate magistrate once said to me.
He said: “Mr Naidu what is confidential in Fiji?” He was referring to the “In Confidence” welfare reports we prepared for the courts.
He said it seemed to him that long before he looked at the reports many others had seen them or had knowledge of the contents. In other words there were people in the court system including private lawyers who were conducting themselves unprofessionally and unethically.
